General rules
1. When you create your account I would prefer that you the name of the character that you will be playing as your user name but it is not a mandatory rule. Also use a valid email address.
2. This is a PG-13 rated board which means please use family friendly language
3. Please be tolerant and kind to all members. No forms of harassment of bullying behaviour are accepted.
4. No spamming, this means no advertising, short posts to lift word count, or excessive use of emotes.
5. When posting please make them as meaningful as possible. We don’t expect essays long posts but do try to make them at least a paragraph or two and with proper grammar and punctuation.
General RP Rules
1. Please stick to the canon of the Harry Potter. Reading of the books is best as the movies are naturally as not as detailed and can only get you so far.
2. Do not GOD MOD. This means you can only control the actions of your character alone. If what you are doing needs you to control another’s action please get permission first, this also includes injuring, harming or killing of another persons character. You can of course attempt to cause a fight with another character by attempting to punch them or maybe even kiss another character but leave it at that and see what the outcome is they may accept the punch or dodge it in their own posts. Remember that your character is not perfect which means that things will not always go their way and they should make mistakes.
3. If you wish to have more than one character we have no problem with that but try to vary it up a bit so if your primary character is a student then have your secondary character as an adult. If your character is a student you will not have to start as a first year. Though if you your character is a fifth year however and you wish them to be a Prefect please contact an admin before writing it as such. Also first in best dressed.
4. If your character is a student then we will allow you to choose your own house but your case for your character to be placed in that house must be good and we also reserve the right to have them placed in another house.
5. This is a Structured Role-Play site which means that there is a general story to tell and we do want as many people to get involved with it as possible but if you have your own story that you want to tell please feel free to play it out.
6. Please use magic to your character’s age bracket and ability. If you are playing a 1st year student you naturally cannot perform a summoning spell as it will not be taught to you until you are a fourth year.
7. If you wish your character to have a special ability please let the admin know beforehand so we can approve the ability. Special abilities include, animagus, metamorphmagi, wandless magic, occulemency and legilemency. Also if you wish your character to be a werewolf you must also let the admin know for approval.
8. You can only be in one area at one time at any given time. This will apply to all role play areas
